In the seas polluted with all kinds of sludge, drone and stoner hybrids, finding a real pearl of epic doom metal is a treat. IN AEVUM AGERE is one such pearl. They follow in the footsteps of the doom metal forefathers, but the founder/guitarist/vocalist, Bruno Masulli, is also a big fan of Chuck Schuldiner, which you can clearly hear in his guitar parts. On their 2nd album, this Italian trio pays tribute to the most important Italian poet, Dante Alighieri, and his magnum opus "Divine Comedy". Focusing on the Inferno part, they've managed to capture the epicness of this poem really well, creating a perfect soundtrack to this imaginary journey through the circles of hell. There's a good variety in these compositions, and the declamations in Italian add to the atmosphere. A powerful sounding album, with clean and strong vocals, memorable melodies and riffs.
